Last March 7, 2014, the GS PE Department hosted a Professional Conversations session with San Juan Public elementary teachers with the objective of sharing best practices in handling MAPEH (Music, Art, PE and Health) classes.
The half-day activities were held inside the GS LRC as holding venue for the guests and presenters. The program proceeded with Mrs. Flora Alfonso, Assistant Principal for Academics, giving the welcoming remarks and rationale of the program.
Topics presented to the guests as well as the speakers were the following: Tony Basmayor, PE-Mini Volleyball; Felix Pangan and Jon Valenzuela , Arts – Art activity and Printing; and Raffy Bofill, Music – Vocal Production. An open forum followed after the presentations to allow the guest teachers to share and exchange information.
There were 21 participants who attended the activity coming from District 1 and 2 schools of San Juan City. The program ended at 4: 00 pm and closing remarks was given by Mr. Marlon Zabala, PE Department Chair, after which the participants were given certificates, tokens and simple snacks.
