XS San Juan: “No Gifts” Policy

Pres. Ofc letterhead

6 December 2014

Dear Parents,

Yuletide greetings!

As the year draws to an end, we would like to extend to you our heartfelt gratitude for the trust and cooperation you have shown the school. Your display of support in the various activities and events of the school provides the Administration, Faculty and Staff enthusiasm and inspiration for our mission. In particular, we thank you for generously supporting the Parents’ Auxiliary’s Christmas drive to provide gift packs and food for the faculty and staff.

We would also like to take this opportunity to thank you for your generosity and thoughtfulness during the different occasions and festivities celebrated in school. However, while Xavier School respects and appreciates the practice of gift giving during the Christmas season, we would like to remind you of our “No Gifts” Policy.

As you know, the purpose of this policy is to safeguard the integrity and dignity of our faculty and staff. In line with this, please take note of the following guidelines:

(a) In lieu of personal gifts (i.e. gifts for individual teachers and staff), gifts intended for communal use are acceptable.

(b) Personal tokens of appreciation are also acceptable. These tokens, to be distinguished from gifts, are defined as “small, simple, and inexpensive” expressions of appreciation, such as cards, food items, etc.

(c) Gifts or tokens that are deemed too expensive or impracticable to return will be raffled off within the Unit of the recipient.

This policy is being implemented with the objective of maintaining a spirit of openness and integrity in the school.

Thank you for your usual cooperation.

A blessed Christmas and a peaceful New Year to you and your family!

Yours in Christ,

(sgd.)
Fr. Aristotle C. Dy, S.J.
School President
