Father Pierre Tritz Institute – ERDA Tech has yet received another milestone at the start of 2015 as the school has been chosen as an official member of the Jesuit Basic Education Commission (JBEC) together with other known Jesuit schools in the Philippines.
As part of the activities of the said organization, ERDA Tech will take part in the momentous event — the first ever Ignatian Youth Camp that is happening this coming January 13-16, with Ateneo de Manila High School as the host. This camp will be gathering more or less 800 students from the members of the JBEC schools namely Xavier School (San Juan City), Xavier University/Ateneo de Cagayan, Sacred Heart School/Ateneo de Cebu, Loyola College of Culion, Ateneo de Manila, Ateneo de Davao, Xavier School Nuvali, Ateneo de Zamboanga, and Sta. Maria Catholic School/Ateneo de Iloilo.
According to Father Tony Pabayo, SJ, Vice President for Basic Education, ADMU HS, “The IYC aims to develop a sense of community among JBEC schools, provide students opportunities to build friendships across our schools, appreciate and acquire a common understanding of Ignatian Spirituality, celebrate the Bicentennial of the Restoration of the Society of Jesus, introduce current Jesuit ministries to students in order for them to be advocators of these ministries, and finally, promote Jesuit vocations.”
Chosen students from ERDA Tech are now prepping for the upcoming event. They are led by Ms. Jesselyn Buendia, Head of Campus Ministry of the school. They are asking for prayers and support for the success of the event.
