A red-letter day it truly was at ERDA Tech on Wednesday, June 17. The traditional opening mass for the new school year, the Mass of the Holy Spirit, was concelebrated by the Jesuit priests of the Xavier School community, with no less than the Xavier School San Juan, Xavier School Nuvali, and ERDA Tech president, Father Aristotle Dy, SJ as the main celebrant. Together with Father Dy were Father Art Borja, Father Xavier Olin, Father Munching de Guzman, and Father Ritche Elot of the Society of Jesus. Moreover, the founder and president emeritus of ERDA Tech, 100-year-old (and counting) Father Pierre Tritz, SJ was also present.
Included in the mass was the recommissioning of the ERDA Tech lay eucharistic ministers: Mr. Peter Marc Magsalin, Mr. Victor Victoria, Mr. Joel Sulit, and Mr. Jonathan Lacson. There were also the oath-taking of the incoming Student Body Organization (SBO) officers and support group, as well as the blessing of the national and school symbols: Philippine and ERDA Tech flags, crucifix, and the pictures of the class patron saints.
After the mass came the installation of the national and school symbols. Simultaneously, the blessing of the new prayer room on the second floor of the main building was held.
Indeed, the ERDA Tech community was very much pleased, honored, and grateful for the presence of the Jesuit fathers on a very special day, and is looking forward to more opportunities and occasions to be one with them.
