Did you notice something new over the horizon? As students, parents, faculty, and staff enter the Xavier School Nuvali grounds everyday, an imposing building greets them “Good Morning”!

Named after the philanthropist and the chairman and founder of DMCI Holdings, Incorporated, David M. Consunji, The David M. Consunji Central Administration Building is the newest structure in Xavier School Nuvali. The three-storey building, with its iconic all-glass visage is an amazing sight to behold.

The building had its grand inauguration and blessing last month, on the 17th of October, 2015. With most of the guests in attendance all dressed in red, and with the weather cooperating for the event, the ceremony started off with the welcome remarks of our School President, Fr. Aristotle Dy, SJ.

The ceremonial ribbon-cutting was also more meaningful because of the presence of Mr. Jorge Consunji, the son of Mr. David M. Consunji, and Mrs. Fredesvina Consunji, wife of Mr. David M. Consunji, along with Mr. Johnip Cua, Chairman of the Xavier School Board of Trustees, and Mr. Gregorio Yu, Chairman of the Xavier School Educational Trust Fund.

After the ribbon-cutting ceremony, the Xavier School Lion and Dragon Dance Troupe presented a special performance, giving the event a distinctly Chinese-Filipino and Xaverian flavor.

As Fr. Xavier Olin, SJ along with his other brother Jesuits led the blessing of the buidling, the guests were ushered in to the lobby where they awaited the candy shower ritual, believed to also shower those present with prosperity.

The guests marvelled at the David M. Consunji Central Administration Building’s spacious corridors, the organized offices, as well as the comfortable conference rooms on the second floor, and homey living quarters on the third floor that can be used for retreats or overnight recollections.

When the blessing was finished, guests were led to the Multi-Purpose Hall where a sumptuous lunch was served while the room was buzzing with admiration about the structure they were in. Mr. Jorge Consunji addressed the audience, who were pleasantly surprised when they found out that he himself was a Xavier School alumnus!

As the celebration ended and the conversations fell silent, there was one thing left standing: that iconic structure, now and forever to be part of the story of Xavier School Nuvali, the David M. Consunji Central Adminstration Building, reminding all of us to continue letting our light shine!
