The fifth-year students of FPTI-ERDA Tech began their in-plant training (IPT) on October 5, 2015. They were deployed to various companies in Metro Manila, many of which are owned by Xavier School alumni and parents. Since then, the students have only been returning to school on Wednesdays for their in-school reporting (ISR). This is where they are able to give feedback to their class advisers, specialization teachers, and mentors about their performance in their respective companies.

On January 6, 2016-the students’ very first ISR for the new year-they were surprised by the school with a special New Year treat. Right after the advisory period, they proceeded to the canteen and were seated according to their mentoring groups. The event started with a paraliturgy prepared by the Campus Ministry, after which the principal, Mr. Peter Marc Magsalin, gave the welcoming remarks which included a welcome-back acknowledgement of Father Munching de Guzman who had recently arrived from China where he stayed for six weeks for the Xavier China Experience (XCE). Also present during the event were the Assistant Principals, Mr. Ernie Chua, Jr. and Mr. Jonathan Lacson, the Campus Operations Officer and Business Office Head, Mrs. Margie Antonio, the Assistant to the Industry Linkage Coordinator, Mr. Joel S. Sulit, and the Sponsorship Program Coordinator, Mrs. Rowena Dela Cruz.

Everybody enjoyed their delicious and filling morning meal of spaghetti, fried chicken, and Oishi orange juice which was courtesy of Xavier School Nuvali headed by Mrs. Arlene Choo, Saint Charles Borromeo organization, and a Xavier School San Juan parent. It was wonderful eating a sumptuous meal and chatting with one another, specially for the students who rarely get to gather as a batch because of their IPT.

Refreshed and recharged, the students then headed to the audiovisual rooms for their graduation pledge and song practice, after which they went back home to get their much-needed rest in preparation for another working day.
