The FPTI-ERDA Tech community had a healthy and exciting Sunday morning in the Xavier Family Stallion Run held on January 24 at the Xavier School San Juan campus and immediate vicinity. The event was jointly sponsored by the Xavier Parents Auxiliary (XSPA), Alumni Association of Xavier School (AAXS), and the Xavier School Batch ’86 Men for Others Foundation for the benefit of no less than FPTI-ERDA Tech, and also to begin the Xavier School Diamond Jubilee celebrations.
Thirty lucky ERDAnians, 15 each from grade 9 and grade 10, together with most of the school’s administrators, faculty, and staff, as well as its French volunteer Priscille Colin, gathered at the upper football field along with the rest of the participants for the opening program which included welcoming remarks from Xavier School and ERDA Tech president Father Ari Dy, SJ, XSPA President Mr. Wilson Sy, and Xavier School Batch ’86 Men for Others Foundation Chairman Mr. Jack Ng.
To prepare the runners, the emcees led the group into a set of warm-up exercises which included Zumba dancing. Afterward, the much-awaited run began, first with the 10-kilometer run, and then the 5-kilometer, 3-kilometer, and 1-kilometer runs in quick succession. One by one, group by group, the participants went back to Xavier School as they finished their respective runs, received their finisher medals, and visited the various booths of event sponsors to get their freebies.
The FPTI-ERDA Tech group felt very much happy throughout the event, which has given them more pleasant memories to cherish. On one Sunday morning, they shared fun and laughter with the Xavier School community. They felt very blessed and grateful for Xavier’s untiring support.
