XS Nuvali students reap awards in Math and Science contests

Ms. Arzbette Ann Manlangit, XSN Math and Science Department Head

With great pride and joy, we would like to recognize the efforts and accomplishments of our young achievers in the fields of Mathematics and Science.

Out of 300,000 participants from 40 countries, XSN is proud to have one Grade 5 student who received a High Distinction Award for Year 5 Upper Primary level of the 2015 Australian Mathematics Competition last October. We would like to congratulate Noel Stephen Dequito of Gr 5B – St.

Stephen is also part of the Philippine team for the Science category of the 12th International Mathematics and Science Olympiad (IMSO) for Primary School Students last November 1 – 7, 2015.

Last October, six Grade 9 and 10 students courageously accepted the challenge of representing XSN for an inter-high school competition. With less than a month to train and prepare, our 2 teams bagged the 1st and 5th place of FactOR 2015: Interclash, a Laguna wide inter-high school quiz contest in Math, Physics, Economics, and Statistics. Join me in congratulating these 6 Xaverians who made us all proud. WInning the 5th place is the team composed of Gyuri Cruz and Jan Miranda of Gr. 10, and Marco Laurel of Gr. 9. Winning the 1st place is the team of Allyssa Garcia (G10), Conner Manuel (G10), and Jillian Ronquillo (G9).

As we welcome the Chinese New Year, we also want to acknowledge the achievements of our grade school and high school students in the Elimination Round of the 2016 Metrobank-MTAP-DepEd Challenge. The grades 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 9 teams qualified to compete for the Division finals held just last February 4 and 5 for the Elementary and Secondary levels, respectively.
