The closing ceremony was a momentous event for both Father Pierre Tritz Institute – ERDA Tech and its 85 grade 10 students because it is the first of its kind in their history and experience.
School administrators, faculty, staff, parents, alumni, and students gathered at the roof deck of the main building on Friday morning, March 18. Father Munching de Guzman, SJ, the school chaplain celebrated Mass.
Afterwards, the main event began. Mark Darylle Infante of Grade 10 – Kalayaan delivered the opening message while Justine Padolina of the same section read a poem of thanksgiving which she herself composed. An audiovisual presentation chronicling the journey of the batch through junior high school was shown, eliciting a mix of smiles, laughter, and tears from the audience.
One by one, the students then received their certificates of completion and shook hands with the principal, Mr. Peter Marc Magsalin, the assistant principal for academics, Mr. Ernesto Chua, Jr., and the assistant principal for formation, Mr. Jonathan Lacson. Mr. Magsalin gave his closing message, after which the school community sang the ERDA Tech hymn. The atmosphere was both festive and sad as photos were taken, and goodbyes and farewells, were said.
This year’s closing ceremony committee is composed of Miss Hazelyn Verdejo, chair, Mrs. Tracy Ann Rotarta, co-chair, and Mr. Joel Sulit, Mr. Victor Victoria, Miss Crisalyn Ballenas, and Mr. Ernesto Chua, Jr., members.
A cycle has been completed, and another one is set to begin in June this year as senior high school opens.
