Bumasa at Lumaya: 33rd National Children’s Book Day

The country celebrates “National Children’s Book Day” on July 19 commemorating the anniversary of the publication of Dr. Jose Rizal’s “Monkey and the Turtle” in Trubner’s Oriental Record in London.

In line with this, the Grade School Learning resource Center, in collaboration with PBBY (Philippine Board on Books for Young People), Kinder-Gr2 teams, and English & Filipino Departments join the celebration from July 20-23 through literacy activities for students such as storytelling, author visit, writing and illustrating workshops, and a book fair.

With the theme “Bumasa at Lumaya,” Xavier School and PPBY hope to achieve the following objectives:

– To increase students’ reading and writing interest through different literacy activities
– To promote children’s literature and inculcate the love and joy of reading

Let us support NCBD activities!
