XSSJ HS Student Council: Call of Duty 2.0

28 December 2016

Dear Members of the Xavier Community,

At the peak of this holiday season, our country was yet again victimized by another natural calamity: typhoon Nina, with winds reaching up to 180 kilometers per hour (kph) and relentless rains that have caused disastrous effects such as floods & power failures across Southern Luzon, particularly in the Bicol region late last week. According to reports, the typhoon has so far displaced roughly 26,000 families from their homes, and has left 7 individuals dead.

With this, the Xavier High School Student Council, is urgently organizing “Call of Duty 2.0”, a relief effort to collect donations for all those gravely affected in the Bicol region. We humbly implore you to support us in this mission to reach out to our fellow brothers & sisters.

The relief effort will come in two parts: in-kind donations & monetary donations. As goods are urgently needed by thousands of families as soon as possible, you may donate ANY of the following items: bottled water, easy-to-open canned goods, rice, blankets, clothes, toiletries, biscuits, and crackers. Donations will be accepted at Room J106 on December 30 (Friday) from 8AM to 4PM only. You may enter through Gate 1.

Additionally, monetary donations may be forwarded to the Accounting Office starting January 3, 2017. Kindly place your cash or check donations in an envelope and indicate both donor (name & section of student) and amount details. Checks must be made payable to Xavier School, Inc. We will be supporting the relief and rehabilitation efforts of Ateneo de Naga University.

We hope for your most generous support in this season of giving.

Luceat Lux!
