Dear XSN Parents,
Research shows that young people experience learning losses when they do not engage in educational activities during the summer. To address this concern, we would like to help you in making the summer months both relaxing and enjoyable for you and your children.
Our team has prepared a list of recommended readings that you and your child will surely enjoy.
To make your child’s reading time more fruitful, here are some guide questions that you can ask your child after reading:
1) What was your favorite part of the book? Why did you like that part?
2) Does this book remind you of something you have experienced, read, or seen? What does it remind you of?
3) Did you learn anything from the book? What important value/s did you learn from the book?
Attached is a reading log to help you monitor your child’s reading.
Your child’s summer reading will be part of his/her First Quarter book talk this coming school year.
Thank you very much for your cooperation.
