XS ’67 Meets Fifty Years After High School

Fifty years after high school and these boys are still energetic enough to walk around the Xavier School campus. They visited their old classrooms, reminisced in their former favorite spots, and saw the improvements of the school. Batch ‘67 led by Mr. Carlos Chung came to the San Juan campus early Saturday morning, September 9, 2017 to start their 50th year celebration.

In a mini-event organized by the Development and Alumni Relations Office (DARO), these men were welcomed by the School Chaplain Fr. Art Borja, SJ. There was laughter behind the noise as they chatted and introduced their wives, parents, and guests to their batchmates. The tour started at the Central Administration Building where one of them, who was part of a photo of students in a military uniform, was standing at attention at the Walk of History along the lobby of the building. The team proceeded to the Early Education Department, grade school, and high school buildings, gyms, and the Multi-Purpose Center.

After the tiring walk, the group had a sumptuous lunch at the Desautels Boardroom. A surprise visit from Xavier School President Fr. Aristotle Dy, SJ, who is on leave for his tertianship, delighted the alumni. They were also joined by Fr. Joseph Ly, SJ, who was their teacher in the 60s. Later that day, more alumni of batch ‘67 celebrated their Golden Jubilee Reunion at the JY Hall, Bayanihan Center, in Mandaluyong City.
