Being a Jesuit Catholic college preparatory school, Xavier School is imbued by Ignatian spirituality. As home to the Xavier School-Mary the Queen-Philippine General Hospital Jesuit community, the unique Ignatian way of prayer is shared amongst the members of the community, especially our students.

One beautiful way of praying is with the Examen, formulated by St. Ignatius of Loyola. Here is a video introduction explaining what the Examen is and how it’s done, courtesy of Marc de Asis, SJ ’99, of the English Canadian Province of the Society of Jesus.

The Jesuits of the United Kingdom have graciously recorded a guide to help people with the Examen. You may choose to use this guide for your own Examen.

We invite you to share a prayer in the Prayer Room as well, and visit the Oratory of St. Francis Xavier.
